Blue stimulates the brain into producing as many as eleven calming chemicals, so is a very soothing colour. A highly sophisticated shade which adapts well to all styles, from classic to contemporary and combines with a wide variety of materials: marble, wood and metals. It is, however, an intense colour, so it is advisable to opt for a single blue wall or two adjacent ones at the most. This will thus avoid creating a box-like effect and the risk of making the room too dark.
